President Joe Biden holds a 62% approval rating in one of the first polls to ask Americans about their opinion of the new president's job performance, besting the first ratings shown by the past four Commanders-in-Chief, CNBC reports.

According to CNBC’s All-America Economic Survey, Biden’s first approval rating is about 18 points higher than the first approval rating of his predecessor, former President Donald Trump. It also beats the first ratings that former Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton received.

Biden holds strong support on his handling of the economy, uniting the country, and fighting the coronavirus pandemic, according to a special online version of the survey.

The poll also found that most Americans rate ending the coronavirus pandemic as their top priority, which may have helped drive up Biden’s numbers. Democrat pollster and Hart Research partner Jay Campbell told CNBC that Biden, unlike Trump, “has made the coronavirus his most important issue in office and throughout the campaign. And the health and economic plans he has put forward have a great deal of resonance with the public.”

He noted that with the sharp political divisions in the country, “The fact that there even is a honeymoon, I think, to the degree there is, is kind of shocking.”

Although most voters look positively on Biden’s handling of the pandemic, many rate the government as having done a poor job of distributing the coronavirus vaccine, though most Americans did say they think that distribution will improve over the next year.

CNBC polled 1,000 people in February with a margin of error of +/- 3.5 percentage points.

62% approval but he's only got 50% brain function.

You and this poll are full of sh it. You can find a pollster who finds 62% approval for Jack the Ripper. Meaningless. The Swamp is tail spinning as we speak. They're hunkered down in DC's Fuhrer bunker. A picture's worth a million polls.
