If you are a Type 1 diabetic, you will always need insulin, obviously, but one way to cut down on how much insulin you take is to change your diet. So instead of eating carbs after carbs after carbs eat a low carb, high fat, high protein diet. Somewhat like a paleo diet. The unit of insulin you will need daily would dramatically decrease saving you $$$ for insulin since the prices have skyrocketed. So in our house for dinner, like last night we had steak, peppers, onions, zucchini, mushrooms. That is it. No carby foods. My husband who is a type 1 diabetic only needed 2 units of insulin, whereas someone who had eaten pizza or whatever high carb meal would need 3-4 times that much. So just restrict your carb intake, eat a lot of fat and protein. It is better for all of us anyways, tbh. And ofc you will at times need sugar, but don’t need to eat it at every meal all day long. People get this backwards because the stupid doctors just keep shoving drugs down your throat to make money but fail to tell you the truth of the matter.

Type 2 diabetics, is curable. Just go for walks after every meal and stop eating junk food, cookies, bread, cake, carbs basically. Seriously that is all you need to do to cure Type 2 diabetes, is exercise and stop eating bad food.
