Why are they now just coming forward with this?! They have been tracking all these people for years to get dirt on them we assume.

In 2019, a source came to us with a digital file containing the precise locations of more than 12 million individual smartphones for several months in 2016 and 2017. The data is supposed to be anonymous, but it isn’t. We found celebrities, Pentagon officials and average Americans.

It became clear that this data — collected by smartphone apps and then fed into a dizzyingly complex digital advertising ecosystem — was a liability to national security, to free assembly and to citizens living mundane lives. It provided an intimate record of people whether they were visiting drug treatment centers, strip clubs, casinos, abortion clinics or places of worship.

Did the patriot act allow this?

In effect, when we carry our cell phones, it would be the same as being chipped if we carry them everywhere. I'm told that even turned OFF, cell-phones make links to cell towers. No-I have no idea how, but cell-phones are becoming more sophisticated in tracking than ever before. You loathe this like I do?
Go to Walmart (there may be other stores that have them) and get a rent-by-month cell phone and plan. Do not associate the plan with your name or a payment method with your name. Use a refillable gift card or similar, that doesn't require a name to be verified. It can be re-loaded by cash or a purchased card made for that phone. This becomes your emergency phone - so you have one with you in the car, at work. Try NOT to use it at work. Use their desk lines - also not all land lines anymore. Have family contact you on work numbers when you're there. The phone is for your use for emergencies and get the cheapest plan. You can keep it plugged into your car charger when you're driving.
Use your regular cell for family and friends, and be cautious. Anything you don't want tracked goes on the OTHER phone, commonly referred to as "a burner".

Unfortunately, I think it's more important that Conservative folks do this - as we are targets, and I expect it to get worse before it gets better. Us your PC to research changes in how we're tracked. 5G - it's capable of more than they say. A burner phone is not going to be 5G, but your newer cell phones, whether YOU can access 5G or not, 5G may be able to track you. Most cell towers will eliminate anything less than 4G - and that will eventually be phased out. I don't pay for 5G on my 5G phone, so my phone won't access it. But it's a 5G phone, and that phone can be 'discovered'. Are they doing this? I believe to a limited extent they are. But they're pouring a lot of money into 5G cells EVERYWHERE. Some things you cannot find on the internet; but the guys that install them on towers...go bring him a cup of soda, and ask. You may learn more. I did. I happened to have worked at a place where on the edge of the business property, across the field from the office, was a cell tower. VZ was installing 5G hardware; so I caught a break. Some of what I learned can be found online these days.
