The better Americans know evangelical Christians, the less they like them, according to a recent study from the Pew Research Center.

The wide-ranging What Americans Know About Religion study found that, in general,
people who are more familiar with a religion other than their own tend to express more favorable views toward members of that faith.

Many People do not like President Trump, because they see him as imperfect and flawed. Christians are imperfect and flawed. If God did not have imperfect and flawed people, who would God have?

Bible verses that will give us all hope of victory:

Romans 8:31 (ESV)

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

John 3:16-18 (BSB)

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.

18 Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.

Romans 10:9 (ESV)

Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

1 Thessalonians 5:9-11 (ESV)

9 For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him. 11 Therefore, encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.

I would like to add a friendly reminder to those on this site praying with"calling down angels"

There are also several practical and theological reasons why praying to angels is wrong. Christ Himself never prayed to anyone but the Father. When asked by His disciples to teach them to pray, He instructed them, “This, then, is how you should pray: 'Our Father in heaven…’” (Matthew 6:9; Luke 11:2). If praying to angels were something we, as His disciples, are to do, this would have been the place for Him to tell us. Clearly, we are to pray only to God. This is also evident in passages such as Matthew 11:25-26, where Christ’s prayer introduction begins with "I praise thee, Father, Lord of heaven and earth...." Jesus not only begins His prayers by addressing the Father, but the content of His prayers usually requests assistance that could only be granted by someone with omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent powers. Praying to angels would be ineffective because they are created beings and do not possess these powers.

The case against praying to angels can also be made by reviewing John 17:1-26 where Jesus prays on behalf of His followers, requesting multiple blessings on them from God the Father, including sanctification, glorification, and preservation of the saints. These three blessings can only come from the source that presently holds them, and again, angels simply do not have this power. Angels cannot sanctify us, they cannot glorify us, and they cannot guarantee our inheritance in Christ (Ephesians 1:13-14).

We must pray that God's will be done.

In terms of the 5th Commandment, this includes harboring anger or hatred in our hearts against our neighbor. The core of racism is hatred towards our neighbor.

Consider Matthew 5:22 (ESV)

But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, “You fool!” will be liable to the hell of fire.

Consider Romans 12:19 (ESV)

Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”

Consider 1 John 4:19–21 (ESV)

We love because He first loved us. If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from Him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.

In terms of the 8th Commandment, Luther provides this helpful explanation:

We should fear and love God so that we do not tell lies about our neighbor, betray him, slander him, or hurt his reputation, but defend him, speak well of him, and explain everything in the kindest way.

The racist can do none of these things when dealing with their neighbor.

Consider Proverbs 21:1, Ecc 7:1, Matt 29:59-61, Col 3:9, 1 Kings 21:13, 2 Kings 5:19-27, Proverbs 11:13, 1 Samuel 22:6–19, Matthew 26:14–16, James 4:11, Zechariah 8:17, 2 Samuel 15:1–6, Proverbs 31:8–9, Luke 7:36–50, Luke 7:4–5, 1 Samuel 19:1–7, Mark 12:41–44, 1 Peter 4:8, Ephesians 4:15, 1 Corinthians 13:7, Acts 5:33–39, 1 Thessalonians 5:14, 2 Samuel 12:1–14, Ephesians 4:11–16, and Exodus 1:15–20.

What is clear from scripture is that racism is a grievous sin which separates the racist from God.

Also consider Acts 17:26 (ESV)

And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place,

We all came from the same man. We are all relatives of each other. We are each other’s brother and sister.

As Gal 3:28-29 (ESV) also says:

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's offspring, heirs according to promise.

There is just a single race known as homo sapians. Within this race there are many natural variations in skin color, eye shape, height, etc. There is no scientific or biological support for any other point of view. There is no scriptural support for any other point of view.

As many wise people have said “we all bleed the same.”

We are all one in Christ, made in the image of God.

I find many Evangelicals to be insufferably arrogant and full of s***. This forum seems infested with them.

This is supported by research showing that most Evangelicals accept other religions while a hard core group of "non-accepters" believes their feces don't stink.

In the survey in which a representative sample of 3,000 Americans were interviewed, evangelicals were asked about their views on a series of theological statements including: "God accepts the worship of all religions, including Christianity, Judaism, and Islam."

Some 51 percent of respondents were shown to agree with the statement, while 42 percent disagreed. Two years earlier in 2016, 49 percent of evangelicals were found to agree with the statement while 43 percent said they disagreed.

Fundamentalist Christians are like Iran’s ‘morality police’
If they could they would turn America into an evangelical compound.

Martin Marty, in the “Conclusion” of Fundamentalisms Observed, suggests the traits fundamentalist-like movements share:
  • They always react against “modernity.”
  • They are selective in choosing “fundamentals.”
  • They cause offense to groups outside themselves.
  • They are always exclusive and separatist.
  • They are always oppositional.
  • They are absolutists.
  • They are anti-developmental and anti-evolutionary.
  • They are anti-relativistic and anti-hermeneutical.
  • They consider themselves “agents of the sacred power, person or force which gives life to their group.”
  • They are teleological.

The stats don't say that.

It's true among some but not all . . . . not even the majority.

Not every Evangelical is like bannonfan and his little toadies.

He's SPECIAL. :ROFLMAO:

As in all things it comes down to INTELLIGENCE.

You might be brilliant at all you do but if you're an Evangelical and you believe that all truth is contained in one book that has been translated and heavily edited to suit the purpose of Man . . . . and that you and only you know the truth . . . . then part of your brain has to be dull and stupid.

Personal experience, :
Spent 25 years in an evangelical church.
The incessant proselytizing and arrogance of believing to have the "only word of god" is dangerous and nauseating.

The evangelical church becomes most troublesome when it believes the bible and
not the US Constitution is the law of the land.

Totally agree . . . . only I would add that from the stats I see, the real troublesome ones are around 20% of the total.

We have several on the forum which makes it appear like they're a majority . . . . but they're really not.

I don't think this 20% is even MAGA . . . . in the sense that they put great value in Making America Great for nationalistic purposes.

They're actually their own religions/political party.

To people like bannonfan and others, MAGA is only a means to the end of making their Religious Party stronger so the trials can begin anew!

@To people like bannonfan and others.

Evangelicals are mostly lying, "Satanic Scum" incapable of redemption.
One biblical standard is certain "you will know the tree from the fruit it produces".

The Evangelical Double-Tongue of Hypocrisy

Some Christians have this annoying Gnostic habit: the absenting of the body in theology and the fetishization of the disembodied idea. This habit makes it difficult to deal with speakers who will say one thing today and another tomorrow and whose words and actions are contradictory. Many evangelicals today embrace conspiracy theories – from QAnon to COVID-19 denial – and accept lies so huge that they can’t swallow them whole. This deserves a more serious investigation that can be aided by the work of philosopher of language Kenneth Burke.

This writer is a douchebag. Very typical of many Baptists I've met.

The description of his book reads

President Donald Trump originated his political career by "birtheriasm" theory was discredited, but there's another possibility about birth. Evangelicals have given birth to Donald Trump in the immaculate mistake. Evangelicals are not a collection of dumb and irrational people; they are the creators of the demolition presidency of Trump. He is their child--the result of almost one hundred years of evangelical angst, resentment, and hurt. This is the story of how Trump has become a secular evangelical preacher and his message of fear, hatred, division, and getting even has captured the hearts and minds of evangelicals. Rather than dismissing them, this work takes them seriously and literally and offers a frank and disturbing series of portraits of their determination to win at all costs.

"Birtherism" was never discredited. In fact, today we know a lot more about Obongo and the people who helped him. There is even more reason to doubt Obongo's birth story.

Trump did not have a message of "fear, hatred and division" . . . . unless you're a Liberal, Multicult, Socialist who thinks keeping hordes of crazy muslims and indigenous Central American mestizos out of America is a BAD thing.

California is already predominantly Hispanic. Guys like this won't stop until America is the same.

A picture is worth a thousand words.

In these days when we are fighting to protect children from abusers, for him to post THIS PICTURE of a vulnerable child is insane and possibly very revealing about who we're dealing with.

Click on this link and you'll see what I mean. Disgusting . . . .

“The Christian religion is a parody on the worship of the sun,
in which they put a man called Christ in the place of the sun,
and pay him the adoration originally payed to the sun.”
