Some Republicans are still clinging to the idea that former President Donald Trump is not the leader of their party, and it often comes back to haunt them.
That was the case this week when South Carolina Rep. Tom Rice paid for his vote to impeach the former president, CNN reported.
On Saturday South Carolina Republicans issued a formal censure to Rice.
“We made our disappointment clear the night of the impeachment vote. Trying to impeach a president, with a week left in his term, is never legitimate and is nothing more than a political kick on the way out the door,” South Carolina Republican Chairman Drew McKissick said.
