One candidate for Congress knocked on doors in the summertime.
"I want to be your voice in Congress." We'd just met.
"Which laws are you gonna repeal?"
A glass of water later, he was gone.
Nice man.

Was it tap water?
With around 800,000 people per rep. it takes 4 1/2 years to spend one minute with each person, assuming an 8 hour shift with no breaks.
Reduce that to one per 90,000 gives around half a year to meet with everyone. Then we've got 3900 in the House. That reduces the effect of lobbyists, maybe.
Smaller staffs and salaries will equalize the costs. Maybe build regional Capitols so they are closer to the People.

This last year has taught us that Congress can easily work from home. Permanently.

Why not home offices and zippo staffers?
Who better to confront the nonsense of Congressional bills that are ignored than an underpaid, exhausted work-at-home person?
This way we might get a tax code that fits on a postcard...
